Mr Ron McFarlane was the founding director and Principal Consultant of Executive Intelligence Pty Ltd, one of Australia’s leading Executive Information Research Consultancies He is a previous Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Sydney and has an MBA with distinction from the International Management Centre in the U.K. Mr McFarlane has had extensive experience in a number of specialist management areas. These include business innovation; information research, competitive intelligence, and the strategic development of organisational innovation programs and human resource issues particularly as they relate to ideas problem solving and best practice programs.

Mr McFarlane has extensive experience of undertaking qualitative best practice research and competitive intelligence work within the corporate and public sector. This includes work for: Alinta Gas; Australia Post; Australian Institute of Management; Bank West, Central TAFE; Department of Land Information; Department of Consumer and Employment Protection; Department of Industry and Resources; Department of Planning; Government Employees Superannuation Board; LandCorp, Lavan Legal, Racing and Wagering WA and the Water Corporation. Mr McFarlane has project managed and written a number of innovation research papers, conducted consulting assignments and presented at innovation seminars and executive briefings around Australia.
His work has included projects for the Department of Water, Department of Culture and the Arts, Innovation X Change Network Sydney, BankWest, Department of Planning, Landcorp, Office of State Revenue, Colmar Brunton Research, Alinta Gas, Central TAFE, WA Education Department and ANTA. Ron is a research associate of the AIM-UWA Alliance and has previously held a position as a senior associate consultant with AIM (WA), and a research project leader with the Centre for Entrepreneurial Management and Innovation (CEMI) at the Graduate School of Management at UWA in 2005 and 2006. He also consults and delivers training programs via UWA Extension and the Institute for Public Administration Australia (IPAA).
