The future of Fonterra, the largest dairy co-operative in the world and New Zealand's largest business, took an interesting turn on Monday 25 June 2012 when its members voted in favour of the Trading Among Farmer's (TAF) scheme. This decouples share ownership from patronage within the co-op and according to some it may risk the eventual demutualisation of the co-op.
